Mazars & AMMJE organized the panel "Human Rights in Companies" which was held on Tuesday April 23rd in the auditorium of the Industrial Club of Queretaro.

Motivated by the award for "Audit Innovation of the Year" that Mazars received for its Human Rights practice, and by the recent changes in Legislation of our country, which guarantee the protection of Human Rights, we want to raise awareness of the importance that these changes imply, by organizing a debate with experts on the topic.
At the panel we had the presence of the foremost experts on the subject, some of the most relevant issues that were discussed are:
Heriberto Torres, Tax and Legal Partner of Mazars opened the event by explaining some basics to get into the topic of Human Rights in Companies.
Muriel de Saint Sauveur, International Diversity Director at Mazars , spoke about the social commitment that Mazars has with our collaborators and our clients. She emphasized issues of diversity and gender discrimination in businesses : "Women still suffer from discrimination in many countries, that is why at Mazars we are committed to them".
Miguel Nava Alvarado, President of the Human Rights Commission of Queretaro, participated in the panel explaining that human rights are an issue that public servants must attend, and that violations thereof should not be tolerated by any public entity.
Carlos González Morales, Special Projects of the Ministry of Labor in Queretaro, considered the issue from a holistic perspective that sought state support combined with companies support to find a healthy balance that generates greater chance of decent work for people. He said that everyone should talk more about the subject to know what people can and should demand from companies.
Gerardo Suarez, Nieto Gas' representative spoke about the company's expertise in the subject. He said that with more than 6, 000 employees and nearly 70 years in the market, the company has learned that the most important is the pursuit of the welfare of workers.
